On Thanksgiving Day this year, several people came out to downtown Prestonsburg to participate in this year's annual Turkey Trot. The event, which was sponsored by the city and Pro Fitness, was held in order to help support the Floyd County Animal Shelter. Individuals who participated in the Turkey Trot could choose between taking part in the 5K or 10K courses and the event did not require a set entry fee. All individuals were only asked to bring an item to donate to the animal shelter, and monetary donations were also accepted.
