Last week, the City of Prestonsburg held its annual Jenny Wiley Festival, which despite the current COVID-19 pandemic, Mayor Les Stapleton said was “successful, yet very different.” According to Stapleton, the festival could not have been possible without the dedication and exhausting efforts from our volunteer committee. He also thanked the work of the city’s Parks, Public Works, Landscaping, Police and Fire departments which he said have gone over and above to keep it safe, clean and sanitized. Stapleton also thanked AMR (Lifegaurd) Ambulance for having the medical facility available, the vendors for attending and the Mountain Arts Center for helping with an indoor venue for the concert. According to Stapleton, most individuals did their part in making it a safe festival, keeping their distance and staying in their family units. The festival featured a number of vendors, entertainment and special guests throughout its four days.
